1970 Ford Mustang BOSS 429
|
This is one of many awesome cars Ford built during the musclecar period. It was the answer to the Chrysler Hemi in Nascar competition. Ford raced with the Torino in Nascar but for some reason they sold the BOSS 429 engine in the Mustang. For this engine to be legal in Nascar it had to be produced in at least 500 cars, not necessarily the same car as it would be raced in. So Ford decided to hop up the Mustang with this killer engine. Unfortunatelly they detuned it to a moderate rate of 375Hp, properly tuned it could easily turn out almost twice that. This car is unique in many ways. First of all it was bought new by a Swedish guy who drove it for a few years then stored it. Secondly it has never been appart in any way, only serviced a few times, the smogpump is still on the engine! It is believed that this is one of very few in this state in the world today. |
